I gave a lot of thought to what services could be done at home and tested the services over time to see if each service could be done as effectively at home as in the clinic. The following services have been repeatedly shown can be effectively and easily at home: Button to services Performing exams, for both healthy and sick pets. Administering vaccines. Placing of microchips Performing health screening for travel and providing domestic and international health certificates. Setting up home hospice care and providing necessary supplies, including pain management. Performing euthanasia in the home and arranging for cremation. Treating urinary and digestive disorders Providing behavioral assessments and consults. Discussing and recommending appropriate diets for life stages and illnesses. Administering treatments and dispensing medications for skin problems allergies, ear infections and eye infections. Collecting blood, urine and feces for testing. Transporting your pet to emergency or specialty veterinarians, if needed.

I will personally perform or oversee necessary clinic procedures like dental work, surgery, x-rays, ultrasound, hospitalization myself at a clinic in Culver City or will refer you to a local vet specialist if your pet’s problem is best handled by a specialist. Throughout my career, the most common feedback I get is that I am a gifted at diagnosing disease.  I try to limit testing to only those procedures that are absolutely necessary.  I ask the question:  Will doing this test change my treatment plan?  If not, I won’t recommend it.

Animal Health Certificates

Are you planning to fly with your pet or ship your pet to a new location? We are accredited to sign health certificates for both foreign and domestic travel. We recognize that this is one of the most important and confusing decisions you will be faced with in the life of your pet. We are here to advise you through the process. The actual visit will start with us tranquilizing your pet to reduce anxiety and fear.  We may choose to place an iv catheter to allow easier access to a vein for the euthanasia injection. We will coordinate in advance for either individual or group cremation. A crematory service can pick up at your home or we can transport the remains to our clinic for pick up.

Are your pets overdue for annual wellness exams or do you have a sick pet that urgently needs to be seen?  We will start by thoroughly reviewing records from your previous veterinarian and recording a detailed medical history.    We then record vital signs and measurements and perform a complete physical exam from head to toe.  This includes examination of the ears, eyes, teeth, skin, lymph nodes, abdominal organs, auscultation of heart and lungs, and evaluation of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
